Archaeological geophysics is interested in mapping and uncovering of buried structures which are not possible to determinate with classical methods.
The objects which are buried underground can be mapped by detecting them with various geophysical methods by uncovering physical and chemical changes in soil structure. When this kind of changes occurred in archaeological field, a probable buried structure, an architectural remains such as buildings made with human hand can be mapped with very high sensivity and resolution. And such as these maps provide archaeologists to determine more accurate zones with receiving the first information before excavated or to prevent destroying of potential archaeological excavation of an area. Mainly, structures in shallow depth are being taken under protection quickly on a wide area without any damage due to geophysical works.
